Washington State Vs. UNLV: Cougars Lead 14-7 After First Quarter

The Washington St. Cougars are looking to pick up a road win on Friday night as they take on the UNLV Runnin' Rebels. After one quarter of play, the Cougars lead 14-7.

Connor Halliday went 6-for-15 on his passes in the quarter, throwing for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw an interception. Carl Winston has 29 rushing yards on five attempts, while Gabe Marks leads the receiving corps with two catches and 50 yards.

Halliday led the Cougs on an eight-play, 70-yard drive on their first possession for an early 7-0 lead. He hit Marquess Wilson on a four-yard strike for the score. Halliday then connected with Isiah Myers on an 18-yard TD score with 4:25 left in the quarter.

The Rebels responded on their next drive. Quarterback Nick Sherry went deep to Marcus Sullivan for a 37-yard touchdown pass that cut the lead to 14-7.

The Rebels have the ball once again as the second quarter begins.
