Yesterday was a banner day for Mid-Atlantic natives transplanted to Florida, as Orlando media and local VIPs were welcomed into the state's first Wawa.
If you've never been to one of the chain's wonderful outposts (hundreds of which radiate from the Philadelphia region) imagine if 7-11 died and went to convenience store heaven, where everything is always clean, fresh, and friendly.
At the media preview preceding the public debut of Orlando's first Wawa ? located at Central Florida Parkway and International Drive, across from SeaWorld ? CEO Howard B. Stoeckel invited Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to build the first official Italian hoagie, one of the store's signature offerings. Watch below as Buddy gloves up and gets to work:
Look for half a dozen Wawas to open around town in the next few weeks, to be joined by a hundred more over the next 5 years.
